If You’re A Jewelry Retailer, Demo Luxe

Disclaimer: I will make money if you decide to go with Luxe. That said, I’m writing this because I believe in the product and the team, and I always want to support good technology in the jewelry industry. Be aware. Be skeptical even. But be curious enough to get a demo anyway.

Something rare happened this year in Las Vegas: I was blown away by technology that was built for the jewelry industry. Not because it focused on AI, not because it’s overly flashy, or because it promises to disrupt the industry. I was delighted to discover a thoughtful piece of modern software that solves real problems for independent jewelers. I’ve had the pleasure of working for some particularly interesting tech plays in our industry, but I am yet to be as impressed by a team or product as I am with Luxe.

What is Luxe? Well, they refer to themselves as a Jewelry Operating System (which is tech speak for “it does a lot”). At its core, Luxe is a cloud-based point-of-sale system with built-in CRM, Clienteling, Texting, Reporting, and more. In two years, a dedicated team of world-class software engineers built a solution that already has parity with the Edge, while also integrating some of the best features offered by software like Clientbook and Podium. Having spent meaningful time with them learning about the team and platform, it’s clear that they’re just getting started.

Yours truly, excited to be alongside Luxe’s Founder and CTO, Amiraj Dhawan, at Couture. Be sure to ask him about his time at DoorDash; it’s fascinating what he did there.

In addition to being exceptional software, Luxe is building a team that truly understands its customers’ needs. Most of the time, costly software engineers are sheltered from the customers they serve. In my experience, this disconnect is the reason why most software struggles to transform our industry. Luxe’s founder, Amiraj Dhawan, discovered firsthand the benefit of working directly with retailers to build solutions. I’ve had the pleasure of watching a few of his demos at this point, and I dare even the most seasoned jewelry retail owners to truly stump Amiraj. After several years of working for notable internet companies like Doordash and Luxe, he has made it his team’s mission to understand retailers’ challenges and to improve the quality of software available to them and their customers.

The Luxe Team: PJ Hughes, Adam Larrabee, and Pavan Nihalani, mere moments before I broke their hearts and beat them all at cart racing.

Beyond being exceptional technologists, the team at Luxe is also exceptional. I had the pleasure of spending a great deal of time with the team during Couture and JCK. They are a curious and passionate group. Their technical team is also front and center, with three out of four members attending the show actively working on the platform itself. This is rare. We need more people like them in this industry. And, with the world and our industry changing faster than ever, we need more software like Luxe

If you’re a retailer, consider scheduling a demo (they offer a starter package for businesses under $1 million). If you’re an independent jewelry retailer with less than fifteen doors, doing over $1.5M in sales, you should really get a demo (especially if you’re struggling with the Edge, as they have that migration down to a science). Most top-tier tech talent does not choose this industry. So I would encourage you to take a look at what they’ve created and consider if it is right for your store.
